Editorial policy
Property decisions involve large sums, so accuracy matters more than speed. These are the rules every page on SG Properties follows.
1. Sources
Every number, rate, date and name must trace to a source, checked at the time of review. We use:
- Primary sources first: IRAS (stamp duties), HDB (flats, grants, BTO), URA (land sales and private property data), CPF Board, MAS (loan rules), LTA (transport), MOE (schools), SGX filings and developer announcements.
- Reputable press second: The Business Times, The Straits Times, CNA, EdgeProp, Stacked Homes and 99.co, with the date of the report.
- Agent microsites, forums and AI tools are never used as the only source for a fact.
2. Independent fact-checking
Before a page is published, a separate editorial review re-checks every claim against live sources, recalculates figures such as price per square foot, and either passes the page, fixes it, or blocks it. Claims that cannot be verified are removed.
3. Estimates and opinions
When we estimate something ourselves, such as a break-even price, we label it as our estimate and show the inputs. Analyst views are attributed to the firm, the analyst where available, and the date.
4. Freshness
Each page shows when it was published and last updated. When an official rule changes, we update affected pages within 24 hours. Launch pages are updated at preview, launch and after sales results.
5. Independence and advice
We are not the official website of any developer. Our content explains rules, prices and trade-offs; it is not personalised financial, legal or tax advice.
6. Corrections
Report an error to info@sg.properties. Material corrections update the page date and are logged. See also About SG Properties.
